the past few weeks have been changing times…

I’d like to start with…did you notice the changes made to my blog !!??? I added a few things. I’m still figuring this whole blogging thing out, but I like learning. The domain is now…Gypsywild.org and ALSO Gypsywildhealer.org.

I decided to add “healer” not only as it RELATES to me but also because it APPLIES to me. According to MACMILLAN Dictionary, the definition of “apply” includes, “…to affect or be relevant to a particular person or thing…” The word “healer” includes, “…something that heals you…” Since my action to change my life, I have started to feel; I’m healing myself. As “Wild” red tail hawk brought me the message to reopen my awareness, to trust my own inner guidance, and look into the deeper meaning of the whole picture. In ancient times, the Hawk, was associated with the soul. Egyptians depicted the human spirit as a Hawk. As for “Gypsy”…well, you know what that definition includes, don’t you?? “…a nomadic or free-spirited person…” My spirit has been set free once again.

As for our immediate living situation, that has changed too. Max, one of our housemates, moved out. He moved about 2 days after I posted about him. Jody has also moved out. So for the past few weeks, the girls and I have been living in the upstairs of the house with just us. There has been staff, for camp, moving in and out of the downstairs. That movement doesn’t affect us. I’m certain the rest of our stay will be just us girls, upstairs.

I went kayaking! Put in at Stony Lake, paddled Stony Creek, came out in Lake Michigan…you see… Stony Creek connects Stony Lake and Lake Michigan. LOL, Yes my Pennsyl-tuckian friends, Michigan has a Stony Creek too!!!…

This was my view of a sailboat on the horizon when we reached Lake Michigan….

It was a glorious paddle. I was in good company. Went with a Camp co-worker and now friend. Time on the water lends to good conversation and deepening of friendships.

The girls had a terrain change, too. No, they didn’t go kayaking; however, they did have their first visit to a beach….

I believe they liked it. Jirakee, aka “Bee”, had a smile the entire time…”Nali” couldn’t stop running and playing in the water. I thought the “not saltwater” would be best for a maiden beach trip. “Bee” liked to roll in the sand. I was calling her “Sandy Bee”/ “Beach Bee”…LOL, we all had such fun, just playing! My heart is FULL when my girls are having fun and happy.

Today is a day off for me and the girls. This is transition weekend. A time when the sessions of campers change. The previous sessions of campers left on Friday morning, and the next sessions arrive on Sunday afternoon. The day started out with downpours of rain. The girls and I decided to lay low and spend the day practicing the art of “doing nothing”…LOL… I’m recovering from a cold. Nothing major. It takes a lot of germs/virus to take down this ER nurse’s immune system.

DID YOU KNOW…. That Fire Cider/Master Health Tonic is a homeopathic remedy that really works…I use it. Experienced based recommendation. I prefer to use all organic ingredients; however, you can use whatever suits your needs and availability. This is the recipe I use…

1. 1/2-1 Cup grated ginger root

2. 1/2-1 Cup grated horseradish root

3. 1 medium-Large onion

4. about 10 cloves of crushed or chopped garlic

5. 2 hot peppers of your choice, (I’m a wuss so I use jalapeno, if you’re a spicy one, then go for your favorite)

6. Zest and juice from 2 lemons

7. 1/4-1/2 Cup grated turmeric root

8. 1/4 tsp cayenne powder

9. 1/4-1/2 Cup of raw local honey

10. Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar

  • Prepare all your roots, fruits, and herbs, and place them in a quart sized GLASS jar.
  • Pour ACV in the jar until all of the ingredients are covered and the ACV reaches the top.
  • Use a piece of natural parchment paper under the lid to keep vinegar from touching the metal.
  • SHAKE WELL
  • Store in a dark, cool place for about 1 month, shaking daily.
  • use cheesecloth to strain, be sure to squeeze out all the liquid.
  • Add the honey into the liquid, until it is desired sweetness.

Whenever I feel that tingle in the back of my throat, or start to feel that familiar nasal drip…I take about 1 Tbsp or 1 shot-glass full of this liquid 3 times a day and it’s magical! Of course my endorsement bars any allergies, or any other health based contraindication. I’m sharing with you remedies that have/do work for me and I currently use.

Here’s to living life in holistic wellness…CHEERS !!!…Thanks for following along…
