Autumn Equinox is here…

It’s been a little while since my last post.  I was expanding my social media experience for Gypsy Wild Healer.  I’ve created an Instagram, Face Book page, and Twitter for Gypsywildhealer.  I’m still learning how every different social media outlet works. It’s looking like Twitter is mostly used for the public to follow celebrities, but Instagram and FB should help spread our light. This blog post will be a test of whether I have successfully linked all Gypsy Wild Healer sites. I appreciate everyone for their support and encouragement.

AUTUMN HAS OFFICIALLY ARRIVED …

Autumn is my favorite season.  Here at base camp, in Pa, the air has changed.  It’s been kissed by the chill.  The chilly air that allows you to sleep with the windows open under an extra blanket.  I’m looking forward to the colors the foliage will show us.

Autumn Equinox is a time of balance. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “Equinox descends from aequus, the Latin word for “equal” and nox, the Latin word for “night”.  The word “Equinox” describes days of the year when the daytime and nighttime are equal in length.”  Autumn Equinox is also a time of harvest.  A time to gather the remaining bounty of Summer and prepare for Winter.  It is also a time to nurture our inner light, since the amount of light in our day changes.  Just as the trees will drop their leaves, it is a time for us to evaluate what we need to release/drop from our lives.

It is a time of conscious selfhood, a time when we celebrate the building and strengthening of our inner life.”                                       -Karen Rivers

Speaking of sleeping with the windows open…I have been asked, often, “What is a hybrid camper?”…so I made a short video tour of our camper.  As you will see the beds are folded in.  As a result of the nature, in design, of hybrids…where the canvas pop outs meet the hard body of the camper, there is a gap.  Although small, when it rains it can get the mattress wet.  So I keep the beds folded in, until I’m sure I wont wake up to a surprise.

I’m preparing to travel to Hurricane Island, Maine.  I am going for a training.  I will be an instructor for Wilderness First Responder/ Wilderness First Aid courses.  This new position will allow my girls and I to travel cross country and teach.  I’m hoping to upgrade our camper to an all enclosed camper.  I love my little camper!  It’s GREAT to camp in, just not so great to live in.

Living in a camper has been an adjustment for all of us.  We’re getting the hang of it, making adaptations along the way.  One of the adjustments I’ve made is related to cooking.  Specifically, preparing of bone broth.  I used to make it from scratch.  Using organic/grass-fed cow femurs filled with marrow.  I started making it for Nali.  She is a Large dog, 90lbs. I started adding it to her food as a proactive approach to support her joints.  I would also add tumeric,( for inflammation), blueberries, sweet potato and simmer in my crock pot for atleast 24 hours.  Well, needless to say this project isn’t very suitable for camper living.  So I started to use a bone broth powder.  Easy to reconstitute with water.  Works ideally.  I’ve observed a noticeable difference in Nali since adding it to her diet.  She will be 4 years old, in December, and still runs/jumps/plays like a puppy.

DID YOU KNOW… Bone broth is not only Great for Humans, but Dogs can benefit from it too.  For Humans, bone broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system, gut health, and joint health.  The big word here is INFLAMMATION!  For DOGS, it works much in the same way.  Bone broth contains gelatin, glucosamine, and chondroitin that support good joint health.  It is also reported to help with GI (gastrointestinal) upset, finicky eating, liver detox, improve skin/coat health, and provide healthy hydration.

These are a couple of my favorite Autumn themed puppy photos of Jirakee.

Hoping to see colors of change, in Maine, next week…on the road again…

I’d like to send a heartfelt “Thank You” to all of our followers, supporters, and friends…wouldn’t be able to do this without you. Please share any thoughts/suggestions in the comments…

BLESSINGS OF LIGHT AND INSIGHT…
