…open to interpretation…

When some folks hear 2020, they might think of perfect vision. Some others might think of Barbara Walters and the news show. Some others might think of the year we’re currently in…What do you think of when you hear 2020? Please leave a comment below.
I think it is meaningful that the year 2020 has brought so much…sorta like an “eye opener“. It’s only June, I think 2020 might have more in store. I also believe that it is affecting everyone differently.
With the Covid-19 pandemic/crisis, perhaps some have had the chance to reconnect with their authentic selves…perhaps some enjoy spending time with loved ones while waiting for the world to “reopen”…perhaps some have suffered deep grief over losing a beloved family/friend and not being able to say good-bye…perhaps some have succumbed to the stress of not having a job…perhaps some have “essential” jobs and have succumbed to a different stress…perhaps some are tired and frustrated with the restrictions to prevent contagion spreading…perhaps some are faced with overwhelming uncertainty…perhaps some have overcome incredible obstacles leading to positive outcomes…perhaps some are able to enjoy nature and the new vibrant colors… I don’t pretend to be able to identify and write all of the chaotic emotions that we are feeling. I do know it’s different for us all. Identifying and processing our emotions/feelings is how we get a better vision at our authentic selves.
With the racial injustice, perhaps some recognize that AMERICAN HISTORY is everyone’s history/herstory. There’s a saying, that if you don’t learn from history, it’s bound to repeat itself. Racial thoughts are learned behaviors. It’s time to educate and unlearn these behaviors while encouraging justice/equality for ALL. Changing curriculum in schools with regards to history/herstory, social studies, ethics, civics and nurturing our young with education. Giving them the whole truth in which to develop their own character/opinions leading them to their authentic self.
With the politics and Donald Trump, perhaps some see an improved economy and credit Donald…perhaps some see lack of leadership in a dynamic world…perhaps some see an extreme narcissist portraying himself in a “Reality Show”…whatever you see, know that it’s time to do the work, and VOTE.
So far 2020 has taught me some interesting things about myself…
I struggle with where we are headed, I also struggle with what we can’t leave behind.
I’ve had quite a few cerebral/thoughtful/deep conversations with some of my dear friends as we all try to be better, DO BETTER! One of the topics was fear and honest acknowlegment. Don’t be afraid to look in the mirror and be brutally honest with yourself. I read a saying that I like…”Fuck fear, Do it Scared”…The reflection of your true honesty will open the doors of perception. As the portal opens it is there that we will find our authentic selves. It is there that work begins on a deeper consciousness. Uncovering the aspects about ourselves that we don’t like is too scary. Scary enough that it keeps us from acknowledging our “shadow” selves and exploring ways to enlighten it. Scary enough that “if I pretend I don’t feel/think a certain way” the shadow might disappear…it doesn’t disappear. We have to face our reflection with an open heart, therefore, reflecting that open love and acceptance onto ourselves. We can only show acceptance to others once we have accepted our own complete authentic selves including our shadow self. Challenging ourselves to face it! Facing your fears continuously leads to extinguishing that fear, as it becomes a source of strength. Transforming fear to strength. Remember that when you “change” something you can always go back to the way it was…ie “Change your mind” “Change your clothes”…True transformation is not able to go back to the way it was…ie “Catapillar into a butterfly” “Tadpole into a frog”…

My beautiful big dog, Jannali, is responding incredibly well to the homeopathic/holistic cancer treatment. She had knee issues before her cancer diagnosis. She injured her knee and we created a knee brace for her using a donation from a friend. She donated a polo horse felt leg wrap. I had some vet wrap (purple, of course) and this is what it looks like…

It seems to help. Although with the heat and humidity rising, here in Pa, she doesn’t wear it as often as she should. We weigh the risk vs benefit on a daily basis and go from there…
I got a job! As a result of the legwork I did while in Arizona, I accepted a legal nurse consulting job. I’m an employee instead of my own boss; however, gaining experience in the field that my business is in is valuable to my success…and I can work from home. Which means my camper, which means I can take it on the road…? Which leads me to my next thought. What is next for us? Do we go back out on the road? Can we go back out on the road? Should we go back out on the road? I’ve been thinking about revisiting the farmette idea. Homesteading, with chickens/big garden/goats…teaching myself to make goat cheese. I LOVE cheese! I picture the girls and I walking on trails in the woods on our property…I would really enjoy having horses too. In a world today filled with so many possibilities, thinking about what our next step is going to be has me thinking.
I’m grateful to everyone for your support, encouragement, and feedback. Please leave a comment below…What do you think of when you hear 2020? Or maybe a story about how 2020 has transformed you?
…Cheers everyone! here’s to shifting perceptions, interpretations that lead to positive outcomes/growth, and honest transformation…
